About Edit PDF
This tool adds new content on top of an existing PDF — click anywhere on a page to place a text box and type into it, or draw a signature by hand and drop it onto the page. It's built for the common case of a PDF that isn't a proper fillable form but still needs something added to it: initialing a page, filling in a blank on a scanned form, or signing a document before sending it back.
pdf.js renders each page of your PDF as an image so you can see exactly where you're clicking, while your added text boxes and signature are tracked separately at their page coordinates. Nothing is baked into the file until you download it — at that point, pdf-lib.js draws the text (in a standard built-in font) and the signature (captured as a PNG from your drawing) directly onto the real PDF page objects and saves the result.
Because this adds a new layer rather than editing the file's original text, it can't remove or change anything already printed on the page — only add to it. And since the added text uses a standard font rather than trying to match the document's existing typeface, it may look visually distinct from the surrounding text, which is worth knowing if visual consistency matters.
