๐ณ QR Code Generator
Generate a QR code for a link, WiFi network, phone number, email, WhatsApp chat, contact card, or plain text โ download as PNG or SVG.
About QR Code Generator
This generator builds nine different kinds of QR code beyond a simple link: WiFi network credentials people can join by scanning, WhatsApp chat links, vCard contact cards, email and SMS templates, GPS coordinates, and plain text. It's useful for restaurant WiFi signs, business cards, event flyers, product packaging, or any situation where you want someone to go from a phone camera to a specific action in one scan, without typing anything.
Each QR code is rendered client-side with the qrcode.js library directly onto an HTML canvas, so the image updates live as you type โ there's no server round-trip and no data ever leaves your browser. Once you're happy with the preview, you can export it as a PNG for screens and quick sharing, or as SVG, a vector format that stays crisp no matter how large you print it.
A few practical notes: WiFi and vCard QR codes encode the actual password or contact details in the image itself, so anyone who scans it gets that data โ don't post them somewhere untrusted. QR codes also have built-in error correction, meaning they'll still scan even if part of the image is scratched, covered by a logo, or printed slightly blurry, but very long input text produces a denser pattern that's harder for cheap scanners to read at small sizes โ keep URLs short when possible, for example with a URL shortener.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No โ the QR code encodes your data directly (except WhatsApp links, which point to wa.me). It will keep working forever, with no tracking or expiration.
What's the difference between PNG and SVG?
PNG is a fixed-resolution image, great for most uses. SVG is a vector format that stays sharp at any size โ ideal for print.
Will my WiFi password be visible?
The password is encoded directly in the QR code image, so anyone who scans it can see or use it โ treat the image itself as sensitive.
What's the maximum amount of data a QR code can hold?
Up to about 4,296 alphanumeric characters or 7,089 numeric digits, but more data means a denser pattern โ keep the input short for reliable scanning at small print sizes.
Can I add a logo or custom colors to the QR code?
Not currently โ this generator produces a standard black-and-white QR code, which scans most reliably across all reader apps and lighting conditions.
Will the QR code still work if it's partly damaged or covered?
Usually yes โ QR codes include built-in error correction, so they typically still scan with a portion scratched, stained, or covered by a small logo.
